I Will Hold On

Performed by: Haven & Steven, Song by: Haven

I'm so glad this song came out so I could share it like someone shared it with me. When I watched this video I imagined how Haven might have felt hurt or betrayed when she had to go through that really trying time, the time that squeezed this beautiful song from her, and went on to be the connection with those that she could witness to with it, people that she couldn't have touched if she hadn't been touched with the feelings of heartbreak and discouragement. It makes me think about anyone of us who believe in the Lord, and can't imagine why He lets us go through difficult time. Because we need to have that broken heart. We can't expect to go on and not understand the difficulties that others go through in this world, while we go merrily on our way. All the difference is that the Lord is making us into something beautiful, whether we can write that beautiful song that Haven wrote or not, our lives are beautiful when He squeezes that lovely something that makes us worth listening to, worth living.

Jesus. Make me beautiful, help me to receive the gift with open arms and to make it with You. I'm so worthless, make me worth it. Thank You Jesus!

***

You never said that it would be the easy way,
But You won't give me more than You know I can take.
You never said that the world would accept me,
I'm set apart to be only Yours, and that's where I wanna be.

And I will go on,
I will stand strong even if I'm alone.
And I will hold on,
I'll carry on until my last dying breath, until You come to carry me Home.

You never said that I wouldn't bear a heavy load,
But You'll be with me as I walk down life's road.
You never said that I wouldn't feel lonely,
But when I'm alone it's when I see your face, much more clearly.

You never said that I wouldn't have a heartbreak,
But a life that that's broken You can can completely remake.
You never said that I wouldn't feel like crying,
But You dry my tears and give me the strength to keep on trying.

This song really touched me. Going through heavy battles yourself really makes you understand what others go through, and you can always appreciate the beauty you see emmanating from someone who has been broken. PTL! from breakings no?
